Heat Remediation Treatments

Bed Bugs scurry on the mattress at 111 degrees.

Introduction:

Bed Bugs are tough to control. They are difficult to see, they are active at night when humans are sleeping, and a female lays eggs at 2 to 3 per day and may lay 200 to 300 eggs in a lifetime. They can go without food (blood) for up to 140 days. They hide in cracks and small places and are difficult to see, especially in the early molting stages and the eggs are very small and almost invisible to the naked eye.  Bed bugs live in clusters, like roaches. They generally will travel 20 or more feet from their nesting area if the host moves to another location. They have been known to move downstairs if the host goes from bedroom to living room. They prefer to feed at night, but will feed during the day if the host is inactive. You may need a flashlight to locate the bed bugs. They will hide in bedding, bed frames, covers, couches and chairs, window and door moldings, behind wall paper and pictures, cracks in flooring, under carpet along walls, wall voids such as light sockets and outlets, luggage and backpacks and clothing.

What To Expect:

When dealing with bed bugs, we understand that having a quick, effective and thorough treatment is a must. At SureShot, we aim to do just that. We employ the industry’s most recent and preferred techniques to effectively destroy your bed bug problem. How do we do this?

Often times you will hear, "heat treatment", but we encourage a "combination treatment". Simply put, it’s a treatment that not only involves heat, but also chemical. If heat treatments are done alone, sometimes bed bugs will migrate to cooler areas and re-emerge when the area has cooled. Our goal is to have protection; if by chance a bed bug does migrate to an area the heat cannot penetrate, the residual chemical will provide a chemical barrier (residual) and protect you and your home from the re-emergence of the insect.

You can rest assured that SureShot Pest Control will use absolute discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at every corner. It is our mission to provide you with a "quality" experience and your satisfaction is our priority.

No matter what bed bug treatment method you pick or company you decide to use, rest assured, you will have a great deal of preparation to do. While we do our best to minimize the impact that it has on you and your family, this is a crucial step in the process. This will vary from taking electrical outlet covers off to removing clothing from drawers.
